Ground Penetrating Radar

Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is a method in geophysics that uses an electromagnetic wave source in the form of radar. UTSI Electronics developed the GPR survey tool called GroundVue. Most of their systems use twin arrayed antennas to reduce noise. They use very broad band frequency spectrum to produce a high signal to noise ratio, resulting in better depth penetration for the same frequency of antenna & good signal clarity. GPRs are available for purchase or hire and we can field experienced survey teams or recommend a reliable survey provider from our clients. The company provides training in GPR techniques, both for beginners and for more experienced users.

Adaptability:

Mix and match antennas to your own specification. Use the same antennas on a trolley, on a vehicle, or hand-towed. Use the same system for different applications.

TriVue

Advantages:

Pipe & Cable Locator

Vivax-Metrotech develops and manufactures products for buried utility locating, fiber-optic cable locating, and mapping of buried utilities. Vivax-Metrotech has a vast range of products to accurately locate buried cables and pipes and inspect the interior condition of metallic and non-metallic sewer pipes. We also offer a range of specialized products for locating faults on cathodic protected pipelines, telecom and power cables. We give two product from Vivax Metrotech for utility detection: vLocPro2 and The Loc-150Tx.

  • The vLocPro2 (VLP2) utility locator receiver was designed to meet the tough requirements of the modern world. With more and more utilities being buried each day and also abandoned each day, it truly is a jungle beneath the ground. Today’s locator must not only trace the path of a buried utility, it must assure the user that the locate is beyond the shadow accurate. The vLocPro2 (VLP2) is the tool that will give you the same results time after time with speed and, accuracy which leaves you confident in the decision to put the paint mark on the ground.
  • The Loc-150Tx transmitter is designed to be powered from CP (Cathodic Protection) stations, AC or external batteries, eliminating the need for internal batteries. This transmitter has a direct connection mode to apply the locate frequency onto the conductor. The Loc-150Tx transmitter has selectable direct connection frequencies from 98Hz to 512Hz (640 Hz in Europe). The two inch by one-inch dot matrix display with LED backlight shows output current, volts, frequency, and over voltage/over temperature/over power warnings.

High Pressure Jetting

High pressure water jets are great investments for contractors, municipalities, or anyone in the drain cleaning industry. High pressureunits are useful in any industries with reoccurring blockage issues or where by products regularly create drainage problems. High pressure jetting is using streams of high pressure water to clean, cut, and remove debris.

The main components of a high pressure jet are the pump, engine, hose, and nozzle. The pump and engine work together to create high pressure water through the hose to the nozzle. The nozzle has small precision machined orifices that restrict the water flow, thus creating high pressure build up in the hose. Water shoots out of these orifices, and converts from pressure to velocity, and it is the speed of the water combined with the volume that does the work. The angle of the jets in the nozzle create the forward propulsion to take the nozzle up the pipe. Forward facing jets will clear and cut through debris, while rear facing jets flush debris back and propel the nozzle through the pipe. Rotating nozzles create a 360 degree cleaning action which is ideal for grease and root removal.

Auger Drilling Rig

The Big Beaver is the most powerful earth drill produced by Little Beaver, the leading manufacturer of torque-free, one-man earth drills. Ideally suited for drilling environmental test wells, soil sampling and foundation repair, the Big Beaver offers one-man operation and portability in areas inaccessible to truck-mounted units.

The Big Beaver is designed to work with 4″–18″ D-series augers. When deep holes are required, auger extensions can be added to let you drill down to 30′ with a 16″ auger and up to 100′ with a 6″ auger, depending on soil conditions.

Leak Detection

The Aqua-M100D is used in the water supply bussines to pre-locate (testrod) and to calibrate leakages (geophone). In combination with the Pulse Wave Generator (PWG), it can also be applied to trace the run of a pipeline. The testrod has been developed by F.A.S.T GmbH and features an extremely high sensitivity. It has been designed to detect even minute leakages. The variable testrod is perfectly well suited to listen to water meters and to systematically check pipeline network sections.
